V2 Beauty Booster
Ageing skin can start to show unfavorable signs as early as our mid-twenties. As cells age, their ability to retain moisture and produce important proteins such as collagen and elastin begin to decrease. Our body’s ability to divide and grow new cells also starts to slow down (Farage, Miller, Elsner, and Maibach. (2013). These cell changes can present in the form of dull, dry and sagging skin, fine lines or even early volume loss.
The V2 injector gun by Clarion uses a vacuum with a nine needle delivery system to inject Redensity [I], a non-cross linked, hyaluronic acid-based hydrating gel. In addition to hyaluronic acid, Redensity [I] contains essential nutrients such as vitamin B6, amino acids, minerals and antioxidants, a new revolutionary way to hydrate the skin. Similar to micro needling, the V2 injector creates small channels while placing Redensity [I] at a depth of 1mm in the skin. At this depth, activated fibroblasts cells assemble a network of collagen and elastin, thickening the skin (Clarion Medical Technologies, 2018).
The V2 Beauty Booster can give a luminous appearance by plumping, firming and brightening the skin while improving hyper-pigmentation and dehydration in the face, under eye, neck, chest and back of the hands. Redensity [I] also contains 0.3% lidocaine which helps with the comfort of the injectable by adding a numbing feeling to the skin. This treatment can be done in a series of 3-6 sessions, spaced 3-4 weeks apart. To maintain this beautiful airbrushed look, one session usually three times a year can be expected (Clarion Medical Technologies, 2018).
The patient arrives without makeup on the face. A full consultation is performed along with the signing of consent forms and confidential photos are taken. Each appointment can take one hour to complete.
The skin should be cleared of all make-up and creams before each appointment. Pre-cleansing of any makeup or oils will take place followed by the application of topical numbing cream. The numbing cream is applied to the desired area of treatment for 30 minutes. Then the V2 injector blankets the area with up to 100 microinjections delivering 3ml of Redensity [I].
After treatment, patients can expect slight bruising and blotchiness that can last four to six days. Itchiness and flaking of the skin can be expected after treatment as the healing process takes place. Overall, downtime is minimal with results lasting up to twelve months before maintenance is required.
